3rd Annual Pheasant Dinner

September 12th was the 3rd annual Pheasant Dinner in Cordillera. The hosts, and pheasant hunters, were Ed and Jane Shriner and Jim Bittner. For the 2nd year the co-sponsor was the Pheasants Forever Organization and NFP with over 140,000 members and over 700 local organizations and founded in 1982. The meal was prepared by the Shriners and Bittner under the expert guidance of chef David Wahlford owner and executive chef of Splendido’s of Beaver Creek . Splendido’s team was on hand to make sure the event went smoothly and beautifully.

Under a beautiful Indian summer evening the menu included pheasant pate made by Jane Shriner, an heirloom tomato and Olathe sweet corn salad, Pheasant Wiener Schnitzel, Wild Pheasant Breast, Jim Bittner’s braised red cabbage and an Apple-walnut strudel with homemade vanilla ice cream made by Suzy Price.

Pheasant Forever also raised money for the local chapter and got commitments from over 10 attendees who became “Life” members.

A wonderful time for a great organization was had by all in attendance.
