Free Registration for One Lucky Boat – Register Before June 11th

The Virginia Beach Tuna Tournament is entering its 14th year, June 20th through the 23rd. Captains and anglers travel up and down the East Coast to fish for Yellowfin, Bluefin and Bigeye within 85 nautical miles of Cape Henry. Established in 2005, the fishing community has showed its support by building this tournament from a payout of $51,800 the first year to the 13th year, with 87 entered boats and a total payout of $176,750. We believe that the 14th Annual Virginia Beach Tuna Tournament is going to be the biggest yet.

Located at Marina Shores Marina off North Great Neck Road, the tournament kicks off on Wednesday, June 20th with registration opening at 3PM for those who have not caught the early registration deadline. After you get registered everyone heads over to the tournament tent for the Captain’s Meeting, delicious food, and great music.

Teams may fish one of the three available fishing days, Captain’s choice. This is an aggregate (total) weight format tournament. Scoring is based on the total weight of up to three tunas with the option to weigh one Wahoo and/or Dolphin for a portion of the pot. All fish must be weighed at one of the Official Virginia Beach Tuna Tournament Weigh Stations located at Marina Shores in Lynnhaven Inlet or The Virginia Beach Fishing Center in Rudee Inlet. Each day of fishing follows a night with more enticing food and live music. The tournament is known for its’ renowned parties…but make sure you get to bed early for fishing the next morning!

On Saturday, June 23rd the tournament culminates to its Awards Ceremony night, with Murphy’s Irish Pub always at the culinary helm serving tuna and the bartenders pouring drinks. This is when party really starts! Saturday night we have over 2,000+ guests, great giveaways, and you might even win a prize at Simon Says, a tradition played at the tournament every year.

This year is set to be the best year to come and we cannot wait until June. For more information make sure to visit www.vbtuna.com.
