Washington Carp Jam

Unlicensed carp fishing in Washington State is not a crime. And mirror and common varieties are your fully sanctioned targets at the First Annual Carp Jamboree hosted by Emerald Water Anglers on August 11 to 12. All you need is 60 bucks (for the entry fee), plus a camera and tape measure to record the evidence. "We are excited to announce the newest Carp on the Fly tournament to come to Washington," says EWA. "Carp are a phenomenal species to catch with the fly rod and Washington has a ton of great habitat in which to pursue them. Where: Coulee City Community Park in Coulee City, Washington, at the south end of Banks Lake. August 11 is a familiarization/sign-in day on the lake. All entrants must be back at the Base Camp by 4 pm to enter your catch for the awards. $60 registration fee per angler includes: -Tournament lid -Map of lake to help new anglers with locations around the lake to fish -Free clinic with Bill Marts and others on Friday evening -Dinner and beverages on Saturday evening, after fishing -Awards for top 5 anglers Tournament winners will be determined by sheer number of fish on the honor system. Tie will be broken by largest carp landed, photo proof with tape measure in the pic.
