Strike King’s Fat Baby Finesse Worm: an Update

On Sept. 23, 2012, we published a gear guide that focused on Strike King Lure Company’s KVD Fat Baby Finesse Worm.

Recently, a Midwest finesse angler who spends a lot of time perusing the Internet in search for soft-plastic baits informed us that Strike King has created a new series of the Fat Baby Finesse Worm, which are manufactured with an Open Pour Technology Color system. This process creates a worm with laminated colors.

Even though Strike King designed the Fat Baby Finesse Worm to be used with heavier tackle, such as a big football-style shaky-head jig, rather than the finesse jigs that Midwest finesse anglers traditionally employ, this angler thought that we should publish an update about it. This angler also noted that Midwest finesse anglers are dyed-in-the-wool customizers, and if the Fat Baby Finesse Worm is as effective as the folks at Strike King say it is, Midwest finesse anglers will find a way to affix it to a mushroom-style jig with an exposed hook.
