Provide Your Input on South Atlantic Red Snapper and Cobia. Upcoming meetings seek anglers’ opinions on possible regulations changes. The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (SAFMC) will hold public hearings in August and September on an amendment that would modify the annual catch limit (ACL) for red snapper in order to allow a limited harvest in 2018. The hearings will be held via webinar and during the SAFMC meeting on Sept. 11-15 in Charleston, South Carolina. The Council will also hold a scoping webinar in August on an amendment proposing management changes for cobia. Meeting times and locations are provided below. Written comments on Amendment 43 (Red Snapper) and 31 (Cobia) will be accepted beginning on Thursday, July 27. To submit written comments through the online public comment form, please go to the SAFMC website (see below) and scroll down to the “Submit Written Comments” section to make your voice heard.
